Newbie waiting for the ground to thaw

Hello,
Figured I'd introduce myself. I got into metal detecting 2 summers ago with an Ace 150. This winter I bought a Whites MXT 300 with an extra DD coil. I've got a friend who is willing to show me the ropes of Nugget hunting. (I can't wait) I also can't wait to get that big coil out to some old fallen down cabins.
Until the ground up here thaws, I'll just read the stories on here and dream. Ive got about a month to plan my next adventure.

Yes, I live in the Matanuska Valley ( about 45 miles north of Anchorage). I have so many search areas bouncing around in my mind. I can't wait to try out my new MD. Thanks for the welcome.
