Yup. Normal. Here is a thread previously addressing this:

I got mine new in the mail today and the first thing I did was push on the end of it to see if it would do that...... And yes it did. Then I turned it off and tried again and it didn't do it. I just turned it on again and pushed on it really hard with my hand and it didn't do it.

I've been abusing it all day now.... So far.. I like it. I notice when I detect a bunch of different things with it quickly in a row, it tends to get a little wonky. And then for some reason pushing on the end of it tends to set it off. But turning it off and back on seems to clear it out. That's my take.
