First Hunt At Camp Buck n Ball for 2015

MoBob and I got out today to the site we call Camp Buck n Ball. It was a nice to see the farmer had worked the ground after harvest. We approached from a different angle and hit some .69 Minnie right off the bat. In a little different area of the field Bob found what we think is a US rosette. This site has only given up 1 or 2 brass finds prior to today so it was a great surprise. We also dug a healthy dose of buck balls. Ground still froze below 3" but the weather was great to get out and hunt in. If anyone can make a positive ID on the US piece we would appreciate it. GL and HH

Thanks chip for posting our picks , we spent most of the day doing recon of a few more potential sights on the property , but the drops we found and rosette along the way made it a good start for the year . Thanks guys for looking .

Glad the ground gave you a bit of a break to dig. That rosette is killer! Been wanting to dig one myself for 20 years. Congrats!!!

Hey guys, thanks for the comments and ID on Bob's rosette. It was found away from the bullets and all by itself. I guess it must have just fallen off as a trooper rode thru the area. A fun part of detecting is trying to figure out how the finds ended up where they are
