Rechargeable battery question.

I assume the higher the mAh capacity of a rechargeable battery, the longer it lasts. Is it a problem to run two different capacity batteries in a machine at the same time? I have some rechargeable AA's and part are 2000 mAh and part are 2300 mAh. Thanks.

the lower aH will pull the higher aH down to it; better to use same capacity...will it make a difference in the real world?

Thanks. I figured that was the case but just wanted to make sure. Just recently figured out where all my rechargeables disappeared to. Xbox controllers! Arrghh!
