Hello from Louisiana

Welcome to the Forum!

Welcome to the site. Before going to any stores or speaking with sales people, you should know 3 things ahead:

1. How much can you afford to spend on the detector and the extra $100-200 in supplies (pinpointers, bags, shovels, rakes, etc). For me that number was $1000, and could not be a dollar more.

2. What are you looking to find and where? For me it was deep coins and relics in fields, beaches and parks.

3. What is the most highly rated, durable, high performing detector

- Within your price range
- Based on what/where you are looking to hunt.

With all that in mind I went with the Equinox 800 2 months ago.

Good luck getting started. HH!
