Civil war relics

Here is some of my civil war relics. None of them were pay to dig recoveries. All were dug on privet property from Carlisle PA to WV.

That is a nice a collection of civil war relics. I wish we had civil war relics like that in SC. I use to live about 12 miles from Antietam National Battlefield before I move south.
 
Nice finds, but why do you mark on them? Drives me crazy when people do that.

Seems better to take pictures and catalog them in a searchable file, separate them by display case, keep a diary, anything but write on them.

I dunno, might just be me.

I found most all of them in camps. I have hunted some small skermishes in MD. I mark my artifacts with a number for whare I found them. They are historicaly preserved then. My best find is my yankee sword belt plate. Most all of the relics pictured are from the Gettysburg campaign. Iv'e dug a couple of Gardiner exsposive bullets. Federal goverment only bought 125000 of two calibers before Gettysburg.
