I dug up this ring the other day and though it was just a Junker but when I got home and cleaned it up it is stamped Sterling. My question is would the stone be something other than glass or is there a clear stone that looks like this. The silver polished up real nice but unfortunately I broke the band when I dug it up. Any Ideas??

It could be quartz but at the same time it almost appears to have bubbles inside it which would indicate glass.

I don't believe stearling would have snapped like that. Also in the first photo of the band piece that's sticking up, upon enlargement it looks rather porous. I don't believe silver supposed to look like that.

Jmho but I believe it's silver plated pot metal.
