Hello! I forgot to post about myself and now I've gone and found something I need help with. Anyone know what this could be? It was found fairly close to railroad tracks, but pretty far for such a heavy object.

Looks like a hand shovel.

All kidding aside, it looked like the piece that joins the rails together and is missing part of it.

have fun and learn from the guys on this forum. Especially guys that use the brand of metal detector that you use. You will also find some real pros on here and other forums you should watch regardless of the type of detector they are using. Youtube is also fun when watching some guys and gals hunting.
