From an old site 18th - early 19th c. ...

Looks like part of handle?

Notice that the piece that is curved does not touch the base. The straightened piece could have been curved like the other

Greenish hue, could be copper.

Or the curved piece could have been straight like the other one, which I think is more likely. But, I don't have a clue.
 
Its definately copper but i dont think its a handle. There are no drilled holes to attach it. Its old but havent a clue on what it is.
 
The best clue would be, what else was found near it?

For instance, if you are detecting an area where generally farm equipment would be used, then it probably has something to do with that.

Does it look like it was homemade? Or manufactured? Necessity is the mother of invention, they say.
