Man, that is wierd........I wonder if they didn't experiment for a while with them, before the twist off bottle cap, so you could get the top off without a can opener. Maybe they were only used for a little while. It's cool looking though.

Looks like Baseball memorabilia to me... Resembles a bottle cap that is a Miniature baseball cap... they were collectables.. sorry about the rough spelling... just a guess

You beat me to it Tncshotter, I was gonna say basebal cap. Maybe it was painted up with the local teams logo? Neat find though for a bottlecap!
