New to the hobby from New York

welcome aboard from Vermont

Get yourself a good starter detector, I used a Garrett Ace 250 and have been having lots of fun with it. I'm sure there are other opinions, but this one works for me.

I currently am using a $60 detector I bought for finding pins on my property a while back. I never really paid attention to it but the other day I was cleaning and saw it had a "junk" filter (I believe this is just metal with high iron content).

After walking my property and finding some really great pieces of flashing and a few coins, I started doing research about other areas so hunt. I'm saving for a better detector, not sure exactly what yet.

Hey! Greetings from NY!! Where about dare you located? I'm looking for people to hunt with. I haven't yet roped my wife into it. Also, jwalker3 where are you located?
