Found this a few weeks ago-lt was pretty bent up when found, and i couldn't see the writing on it when i found it.
I was looking thru my trash after the hunt- when i saw there was writing on it.
I've contacted Angelos Angels to help with research on this item.
They sent some info:
Lloyd Hilary Gomes was in the thick of it during WWII. He was a Lt. Col., Commanding Officer of the 334th Regiment, 84th Infantry division. His highest rank was Major General.
This piece of aluminum is about 4 in long and possibly was cut from a larger piece as there are some letters on the left edge.
Wife was thinking it was off a plaque--but those are usually brass--- also there appears to be white paint on this..
Any one have any ideas about the origin of this item??
