It is the same button.
I have a Special Formula that I was given from an veteran relic hunter. It's a cleaner from the 1960s that cannot be found anymore. When the guy noticed it was being discontinued he bought a pallet of it. Now there is one gallon left plus the bitters bottle he gave me of it. A few drops just to soak for about 5 mins, a wipe and presto!

I used to use 50/50 mix of sudsey ammonia and water takes longer and not as good but close. Same process. Just longer and about 70% as good results.

Most Union buttons don't come out too nice. Only the state button seem to have a good quality that held up.
 
Special formula....Lol. Probably taken off the market in the 60s by the Environmental Protection Agency. :) Sure is a purty button though.
