Finally broke down and bought a Lesche digger. I got tired of breaking trowels and small shovels which were starting to add up to the cost of the Lesche. Fortunately this hobby allows you to find enough money to pay for your tools

Good for you OD. You have some awful hard ground to contend with down your way eh. :wow: Let me know how well it holds up. I'm in the process of making another one out of 1/8" stainless. We'll see how that works out. :?:

I'm looking for one of these myself, although I'll probably "break a few trowels" until I get a good deal.

Anyone found them for much less than the $40 retail price?

My wife got me a Lesche digger from TonyinCt this past Xmas. I like it for cutting throught the ground, and slicing through clumps. Since the blade is flat, it does not scoop out dirt as well as the standard digger that Tony packs with his detectors that he sells. I sharpened the front of the cheaper digger, and I use both depending on the hole. I would get one of each.
