My First Wheatie!

So I was at a family gathering at my Grandpa's when I announced to the crowd that I was going out back to dig in the dirt. Not one person wanted to join me claiming it was too cold (a mere 40 degrees). My young cousin joined me in enough time to find a 1945 S penny and with it a crunched up Military Police toy car.

My joy at looking at the doubting Thomas' with my wheatie was immense! It is not in great shape, but it is mine. It was my first since find since I got my detector October.

PS The family also found it ironic that I found the MP van considering that is what I did in the Army.

The first coin I ever found was a 1941 Wheat penny.......a LONG time ago. Nice find and I hope you find many more.
