I've had a lot of success on dry sand with my Ace 250 but I'm looking to move into the wet sand and surf. I've read a bit about water machines and have narrowed it down to these machines:
White's dual field PI
Minelab Excal II
Garrrett Sea Hunter
Tesoro Tiger shark

It seems that the Whites and the Excal seem to be the most popular. I can afford the pricier machines but obviously the cheaper the better (gotta keep the wife happy). I'm mainly looking for the most bang for the buck. Thoughts?

I can't speak from experience since I'm kind of in the same boat as you. I'm dying for a salt water machine but I need to save up first. After much research and advice from the members here I decided on the Minelab Excal II. It won't go as deep as the White's Dual Field PI but the ability to discriminate out iron is a must here in Jersey. They're both fantastic machines though and I'm sure you'll be happy with whichever one you get.

If you get the Excal, you'll be Happy! I love mine! Well worth the extra money I say. I debated over the same list you have, they are all good ones.
