And I sure would like to hear the story that goes with this one. So close. He almost got away. What ? Tool broke--just ran out of gas--or did he get caught, whatever the case the lock is still holding. I have dug a bunch of locks so when I unearthed this one, all muddy I just threw it in the pouch but after further inspection I realized it was pretty old(all I could find was pre-1930) and on clean up I saw it had been all but cut through. So what happened that he had to stop with a little more than a hair to go. Pretty cool !
Last weekend I was way past due on yardwork but I did manage a few hours on Fri. I started a new permission across the street from the 1850s house I did last week. 40s type house, small front yard, medium back. Fired up the Equinox to a barrage of iron and emi. The signals were scratchy and clipped so I put it into all metal which cleaned up the signal but with machine gun iron in the back ground. First signal a 31, a clad quarter, not five feet away another 31. Both shallow, less than three inches, I popped them both the second being a 63 GW. Finally silver# 6. Thats pretty much how the rest of the frond yard went , I dug maybe three plugs, a little over a buck in clad, one 57 wheatie but most were popped. Same in the back yard, I dug some cool toys, and the lock, which wasn't that deep. The last two yards I think maybe 4 or 5 deep signals. Kinda got me scratchin my head a little bit. Something ain't right. So I pulled the coil cover, cleaned it and the coil, re installed, did a factory reset, then a reset in each mode. Then put my settings back into Park 2. Did a few air tests and everything seems to check out. Needless to say I will be going over the last two places again. Now I need to find time to get out. Maybe Thurs. Good luck to all and any info on the lock would be appreciated. HH Mark
