Default Build your own pointer?

This looks fun.

Probably more like a stud finder. I bet one could make a pointer out of it.

If I were you,
I would try to unroll the coils's wires.
Coil them up again into 2 round coils and make a DD coil out of
them : Same wires -same connections, but different shape.
You get it ?
Good Luck with your experiment....

PS.:
From my archives:
Marked is the screw I used to induct the coil in order to achieve more sensitivity....

I know this is an old old thread, but has anyone bought that kit and tried to make a pointer out of it?

Jay Mo did on youtube, if that is the kind you have to solder every little piece into, then make a housing for it all. It works, but you basically have to be touching the object to make it work

if you want to do it as a project and to have fun that's cool, otherwise I would recommend you to go for the vibra-probe, the cen-tech or the propointer in order to have the best results. jmho
