Default My 1st Military Button

I found this at a house I had permission to detect. The house was built in 1780. I was surprised to not find any really old silver but the amount of shallow targets was pretty ridiculous. I think I'm literally going to have to grid the place and clear all the shallow stuff before I can get to the goods. I think the button is from WWI but I'm not positive. HH

Default Infantry Collar Disk

It's a collar disk, maybe from as early as WW1. Hard to tell the age on many of them.

Looks like collar disk but crossed rifles is the Infantry Symbol.

Yep, that is a collar disk for an infantry soldier probably WWII. The later enlisted disks were two piece with the rifles on top of the disk. That is a great find.

Congrats on a very cool button. It's definatly WW1. I found a very similiar style one for Artillery but with 2 cannons crossed.

I love finding military stuff. We should get out sometime because I know of a few sights around Boston that give me military relics.

This is in fact a WW1 infantry collar disk for an enlisted man. Does it still have the screw post intact or is it smashed? Is the nut on it by chance?
