You guys have any idea what this is? I dug it out of an old War of 1812 battlefield.

Really no idea, could be anything.
Is it broken off at any point?
Might be a slide bolt for a door lock.

It seems to be broke a little at the end? I only had a few beeps in this battlefield there wasn’t any trash or miscellaneous metal. I dug this exact one where they had camped out the night before. Thanks for the response.

It looks like it might be a square head nut on a broken bolt.

The broken bolt is kind of what I was thinking, but I don't see any threads.
Maybe some electrolysis might reveal more clues.
