I hope it is a meteorite, but you never can tell. You just have to have it tested to know. I think I picked up one here in NY not too long ago...., near an area where one hit a car.
I know it the wondering just kills a person but you just don't know until you have it tested.
Google "meteorite or meteorwrong", tons of info and steps to take prior to sending it in to be tested. Good luck!! I hope it is a Meteorite, that would be amazing! Keep us posted!!!
