Hi all. I'm new to the forum but not to the hobby. I started metal detecting back in 1980. My first detector was a Heathkit which I had to build before I could use it. The thing worked great and still does. After a couple of years I bought a Whites Surfmaster for beach combing which is still in good working order. I've been reading this forum for a couple of weeks now and I'm suprised to find that i'm still learning something new about the hobby all the time.

Welcome to the forums and welcome back to the hobby. I used to use one of the old surfmasters a long time ago. Worked extremely well on the fresh water beaches. Good Luck and post us some finds please.
