Default Old maps?

When looking for old sites and researching Iíve found a couple places marked on one old map and not others from the same time period give or take a few years. Do you bother with short lived locations?

Maps donít always tell the whole story. Iíve found some amazing finds in areas that werenít reflected on any map in U.S. history except for modern structures. Cartography wasnít as in-depth before this past century. Your detector will tel you the truth when you sample a site and hear all that iron sounding off if itís old.

My house was built in 1963, the house closest over the hill was in the 50ís yet in between the houses Iíve found 1800s home stuff including coins... until about 1930s on the maps there was nothing not even roads here. Maps donít show it all.
