An update on the Roman Lantern which was found, and very carefully excavated.
It was picked up by Finds Liaison Officer Faye Minter, and is now in the hands of Bury St Edmunds County Council Archaeology Service. Faye says it is a very rare find, especially in such good condition. It is of a type thought to be previously unknown in this country, and could possibly be associated with a burial.
The lantern is now going to Ipswich museum for X-Ray and further analysis.
