Were they uncirculated?
Maybe they were stored by the mint all these years and just made it into use?
I got a roll of 1991 uncirculated ones a year ago, and kept it since you don't see that many AU or BU ones as they get older.

Next roll was all bicentennials odd.

When I CRH I wrap them back up by year and mark the year faintly with pencil
on the wrapper. That way I'll know if I get them back a month later.

Just found a 64 half in pretty decent shape outa 140$ in halfs wiped out my local banks lol but it sure was fun like lotto tickets w/o the prospect of losing money. Now i gotta find some local banks with more and somewhere to turn em in.
