2500gti huge problems

Bought used 2500gti and it went bizarre already on first day.
What i noticed is next:
- objects are shown on upper scale but no beeping sound to them - never even in zero mode
- surface discrimination doesn't react on +/- buttons, 2'' and 4'' lines are dead (not visible) and you can't even turn off this discrimination!
- etc etc.

Tried it all. Changing batteries, disconnecting and connecting the coil, slight tapping, using headphones etc.
I just hope the vendor will be open to money back...
There are so many errors i bet its computers fault.

Should i open it and see whats wrong? :roll:

I would return it to the dealer and explain the issues. Hopefully he would be willing to work with you on a solution.

If you just got it yesterday, there is no doubt that the dealer will (or should )exchange for one that is working properly. I know I would.

You did remember to press the "operate" button, I don't remember that machine too well, but do remember after making any adjustments you have to push operate. You probably do know that, I'm not suggesting anything, only asking a slightly no-so-obvious question.

Call your dealer right away, and let him know what is happening, and tell us what he said.

I wouldn't expect a cash back, but a working properly detector I would.

good news
All that was needed was factory reset - holding power button for cca 5 sec!
I hope it was JUST my bad and all the "errors" don't come back later...
For now thanks to you all and i read it all!
I can breath now :shock:

I have a 2500 and really like it. That would have been my first suggestion. It works with a lot of other detectors too.
