1/2 x 2 approx. at back end, 2 ft long, hand forged down the long edge and hammered to a round nose with sharp edge. Seems to heavy for hand tool but no holes for farm equipment implement. I’m a welder/blacksmith and it would take a hell of a man to swing that thing, bigger man than me anywaylol, Any ideas? Found on homestead

I'd agree, base is too thick for a machete, maybe a point of some type off of a plow?

That’s kinda my thought but most discs and points and tractor stuff I find has holes or some way of bolting/riveting it. This looks forged out of flat bar but much heavier than modern iron for its size and reads like a 50 cent piece.

::::update::::: Asked the land owner if there was an old forge there, he said “yes, how did you know?”. Explains the horseshoes and probably lots of the hits I didn’t dig were shoes and nails. He pulled hammers anvils and an old coal forge out when he bought the property.
