The absolute best way is if it's running do the second hands tick (fake) or sweep (real Rolex).
I have a fake one that I bought on vacation in Mexico that sweeps.

This one sweeps as well. Gotta hand it to those Chinese
Drum roll please...and the answer, it's real ly fake
I knew nothing about Rolex watches before finding this watch. Now I know more about Rolex watches than I ever wanted. When I took it to the specialty watch repair guy and told him that I found it metal detecting his first response when I asked if it was real was, "It looks like ya done good". It wasn't unitil he removed one of the band clasps closest to the case that he let out a groan of dissapointment and "sorry" soon followed. Said it was the best knock off he'd ever seen though.
Oh well, easy come easy go. Next time!
How do you know that they made it ??
Does it say Made in China somewhere ???
You should start wearing it...
We can call you Faquaman
I'm voting "Fake" but it's a nice find whether it is real or not.

I don't support counterfeit goods but if it's a find... Like Dogpound said, I'd wear it.
.
Sorry Mama if I don't agree, but to each his own ..To me it is still wearing a fake
I hope there are no hard feelings ..
No hard feelings at all Yep, it is still a fake. I'd wear it because it works and the effort made by digging it. Tells the time and a story. If it were a fake LV bag, forget it..
Although, thinking more about this.... How long I'd wear it??? Probably not long. I'd feel too much guilt and that might be something we can't discuss on here.

I'd say your right Bigpoppa and it's the American consumer not to mention the French, German, Japanese, Italian, Spainard, Brazilian consumer etc. and not solely the American consumer perpetuating the problem. I could probably include every country around the globe but ultimately it's the Chinese worker making .75 cents/day that's jumping off Apple factory roofs. It's the Chinese govts ability to look the other way and horrendous civil rights record that is solely to blame for this !!!! making it through customs.
Malaysia and Vietnam are fast on their heels but I wouldn't say I'm assuming anything about China being the primary culprit here
