Found this in an old park. It is quite battered and of course, does not work. It is definitely a real Swiss Made Dunhill. Saw a similar one on line that was 14K and was selling for over $1400. Does anyone think that even in its terrible shape, it is worth something? How can I tell it's gold content?

IDK but thats a pretty cool lighter! Congrats!
 
Sure it isn't plated? The top part doesn't look right. Still a sweet find. I don't see anywhere where it says a gold marking. Maybe heavy gold plating.

your lighter is gold plated, and not worth too much in the condition it is in. in working order they are selling on ebay from $15.00 up. if it had a solid gold case it would be stamped solid gold on the bottom. the top appears to be bent, however it may be repairable. you can call Dunhill in NYC
 
I was about to say it did look like the gold was peeling away near the top. Nice lighter regardless!
