Seriously, they do have a slightly different sound, nothing major, or disturbing... just unique. I spent about 30 mins in the basement going over various targets, and I adjusted quickly.
Bottle caps still have that funny twang on the end, and zincolns still make that double sound. The tones are still rich and full, nothing like some of the reviews that kept me wavering back and forth.
I'm very, very pleased with them. Also, now I don't have to worry about ruining a set of HP's getting caught in a downpour or a miss-step in a creek.
All in all, I rate them = Awesome!
