Took a short hunt in the front yard before a late supper. Had a hit five feet from my sidewalk and about a foot from the driveway. About four inches down, I saw something metallic. Pulled it out, and was dumbfounded! It was a spent .50 caliber FMJ bullet! Now, I live several miles from Ft. Riley, so that is kinda scary! When weather conditions are just right, I have heard their machine gun range before, so maybe it was a stray round--I think that it was point down in the ground.
