I see people pulling silver all the time. I have to say it has been pretty difficult here in LA (lower Alabama). The beaches seem very hunted out, and the local parks too. I still get out and find some clad and one silver ring. It has been a very dry few weeks for finds, but I finally had some firsts this weekend. I found my first mercury dime and believe it or not my first wheat cent. The dime I found on Easter in a park I have hunted a lot, but not the curb strip. The day before I was at my in-laws. Their house was built in the 40’s. I found my first wheat, that o gave to my father-in-law. It was his birth year. I also found an Alabama state luxury tax token. It is in poor shape, but very cool and interesting to me.
I also found some mystery items if any has any ideas please let me know. The first was found in the same park as the dime. The seri found today at an early 1900’s house. It was under a huge old tree.
Thanks for looking. Hoping you all have great hunting
Brandon

Let me be the first to congratulate you on your first silver coin! Wasn't it amazing to see the shiny silver dime in the dirt after digging all those black clad ones? Awesome job. Nothing quite like the first!

Sorry
I need to get better at taking pics

Neat to find all those firsts. Memories that you will carry for a very long time. Congrats on the Merc, the Wheat and the Tax Token. Trapper

NICE! I'm glad it was a Mercury dime. They make such a nice impression the first time you dig one. I have found those Alabama tax tokens in Wisconsin. They have a reputation of showing up all over the country!
The first unknown is a striker wheel from a cigarette lighter, like a Bic. The copper thing I'm not sure. Looks like the lever off a Vise-grip pliers? (probably not)

I hate those lighter strikers! You will find many more of them. Mark my words. They are small, so it makes the signal sound deep. I hate 'em.

Congrats on your first silver and wheat cent! :woot: I've yet to uncover silver... maybe soon!

Nice first silver! Whats the date and mint on that merc? Im sure youll hear this from others, but no place is ever hunted out.

Congrats on your first silver! A lot of people wait a long time to even dig their first Merc. Hopefully this is the first of many more!

A huge congrats on finding your first Silver Coin !

And as many will agree ... finding silver coins never gets old !

Good Hunting !

I am sure you’ll find one soon. I almost didn’t swing the area, almost didn’t go out that day, almost didn’t dig the signal because all of the junk, almost stopped digging for it. Patience paid off and it was totally worth it.
