Today was a bean field which is the former home of a one room schoolhouse from the 1850's to the 1970's. It was subsequently moved. Oddly, I didn't find anything from the 1800s over the course of about 5 hours. But the kids in the mid 1900's DID drop some silver items. I came out with two dimes and a catholic pendant or charm. Mike got his first ever half dollar and a gold-plated air force pin marked "sterling". Oldest coin was Mike's 1923 wheat penny. (It's a well known school site, so I imagine were aren't near the first fellas with detectors there...) ...gotta love some Cracker Jack rings!
