Anyone ever saw an old coin like this?

My friends dad found this on the side of the road as he was taking a walk back in the early 1980's. It was in the dirt and he saw a glint of it peeking through the dirt from the suns reflection. He has taken it to a couple of coin shops and has had no luck. Anyways this has my curiosity stirred up as well. It would be awesome if it could possibly be some kind of Greek coin. One of the coin guys told my friend that he did not think it was silver and thought it could have been made out of zinc. Well we all know what the elements do to zinc. So to me that does not stand.

I don’t know if it’s real or not but it does look like an Ancient Greek coin. There are many similar but I can’t find an exact match.

+1. It's a replica of an ancient greek coin, but I don't know which city/state. Maybe Maroneia (not sure of the spelling) or Thasos.

Does it say "copy" on the edge anywhere?
