took a ride today to the town of Okeechobee, Fl., to have a look at the lake. My detecting gear with me in case I stumbled onto a place. I was curious about the huge observation pier, where people gather to watch the wildlife, fish, or do whatever. I figure a lot of coins went over the edge there in the past 60 years. I took a couple pictures to show you why not many of those coins will ever be recovered. They posted a few sentries to guard the place. All the grass and other growth is usually covered with 8 ft of water.
Not much rain in the past two years. The water you see is a man made channel or canal that circles the outer part of the lake.....Gil

Gators!

60 years and you didn't hunt it? ;)

Were you paying attention?? Just kidding, but with a gator near I wouldn't put even a little toe in the moya.

Gil: A friend of mine has a place on the Lake Okeechobee and frequently finds sharks teeth. Have you? And I do realize those would not be found with an MD !
