Best detector for placer gold

Hi,

I tried searching for the answer to this question but couldn't find anything.

I'm completely new at this. But, I have been reading some books on searching for gold and am purchasing maps from the New Mexico Bureau of Mines and Mineral Resources of known discoveries of gold in the state.

Any advice on makes and models of detectors most suited for placer gold discoveries? Much appreciated.

Lobo super traq. Then on the way home you can stop by the park for coins and jewelry.

If you have the money, and are sure gold hunting is all you're going to do, I would suggest you look at Minelabs line of specialty gold hunting detectors. They're not cheap, but they are meant for hunting gold. I don't know how well they would do anything else.

If you want to hunt other things, then Tesoro's Lobo Super Traq, or White's M6 (or is it MXT?) might fit the bill.

Dont forget Fisher Gold Bug 2 for smaller gold and Minelab GP4500 for the rest.
