Fried Okra

Found some gluten free yellow corn meal so it is a start. Wonder if I should try some breaded squash flowers? Have enough of them.

Actually, whenever I bread anything, I always use a combination of cornmeal and flour. Even on my chicken. Yum!

The cornmeal adds a nice texture.

All kidding aside though, I do like mushrooms. I worked at a CT mushroom farm when I was 18. I developed a taste for them then. :) Not beets though.... like cats, they are my mortal enemies. :lol:
 
I am partial to a nice lentinula edodes. Developed a taste for them in Asia.
They don't only taste good, they are loaded with antioxidants. Also like Porcini and real dark Morels mushrooms as well.

I had some lentinula edodes when I was in the military in Germany. Penicillin cured mine.........................
