I'm sure this has been done plenty of times but I wanted to put this together for my own reference.
I test a 14k gold earring, a mercury dime, a buffalo nickel and a wheat penny with VDI read outs and sound.
Interesting to note that the 14k gold earring rings up as iron. I normally notch out iron. Anyways, enjoy the video, I hope it helps someone.
