Please guess the date?

This is by far my oldest coin found. This picture was taken fresh from the ground. I think it's a Draped Bust large cent. However, on the date I believe I see a 1 then a blank then an 8 and then the bottom of the last number. Since the DB was run from 1796 to 1807 the third number could not be an 8. What do you guys think?

Gentle cleaning and some filters on the picture should help.

Thanks to everyone who commented. After taking what SevenOneSix said I put the two date areas side by side and I think your right. What I thought was the bottom of an 8 (which did appear to sit high to me) is more likely the top of a 9. It is in rough condition but considering it's age I guess that's to be expected. Thanks guys.
