Pinpointers - used/new

The only concern I would have with buying used is with a Garrett. It seems there are a lot of fake Garretts out there, and it would be difficult (impossible) to know if it was genuine or a fake.

It also seems with pinpointers in general, they can have a fairly high failure rate, even new out of the box, and a warranty would be a good thing to have, just in case.

IMO, for the $50, it's worth buying new from a reputable authorized dealer.

I think the Garretts, White's TRX, and Noktas are all very durable. Dropping them won't do any of those any harm. The Garrett and White's are waterproof (not sure about the Nokta, but I think it is as well), and all three are good at what they do.

That White's TRX has a built in loop on the battery compartment that you can attach a lanyard to. I have a lanyard similar to the one below on mine, and hooked to the holster. Hunting at night, I don't want to lay it down and walk off.

If I was going to buy a used one I would try it before I bought it. If buying it otherwise I would make sure that you could return it if it didn't work.
