How should i clean it? i havent even washed it with water yet.

I cleaned it in a hot peroxide bath. A WW I Great Seal Button.

Wow I would have been nervous to use peroxide, but it seems to have worked pretty well.

I was too, but after watching a video by a guy on here using HP to clean wheat pennies i realized it was the best way to go. Check out post #14 here. I cleaned it up more and it looks way better. http://metaldetectingforum.com/showthread.php?t=199662
