My buddy found this last week and was wondering about a date range. Is there any way to tell? I know you can still buy copper shot glasses.

It is roughly 2 inches high. The bottom is marked "Solid Copper."

Sorry for the crappy iPod pics. That's all I had at work.

Thanks,
Erik

I don't think it is a shot glass. I think it might be from a communion set. My father was a preacher for years and he had two "take along" communion sets. One was brass and the other was silver.

That could be. Not sure exactly what it is, but it is a cool find.

Copper drinking items were very popular from the 1930's to the 50's.

There is a drink called the "Moscow Mule" and you used to be able to buy entire sets of mugs, shot glasses, shakers and utensils designed, from copper, to create the Moscow Mule.

My grandfather had such a set and it included copper shot glasses to measure out the liquor.

Great little item and it calls to mind the era of Don Blanding and the South Seas craze that was going on around those years.
