I found this old tag yesterday. It has the number 2615 and Pat. Dec 18 1900 and Jamestown Exposition on it. Does anyone have any info to what this could be.??
They had a Jamestown exposition in 1907 for the 300th anniversary of the founding of Jamestown, Virginia. Lots of souvenirs were issued, this may be part of one. I found a small medal a few months ago from the exposition. Yours also reminds me of a seal used on a railroad boxcar door. When the car was loaded the seal number was recorded on the shipping papers. If the seal was broken, you knew someone had tampered with the cargo.

Well the link you posted was broken, but I went to the root website. I suggest you try the google patent searches instead, as it includes filing dates and not issuance dates. There you will find a few items that my have been displayed or used at the exposition.
