That looks like a great project. It is just what I was looking for a for a few weeks ago. I just bought my dad a TinyTec and I ordered one of those $15 jobs from Harbor Freight on Saturday. Although HF hasn't confirmed my order yet and won't for an other "24-48 business hours". I'm hoping that they mean 1-2 business days. Calculating an 8 hour work day, their figures would take three to six days! If it takes that long to process the order, how long will it take them to ship it?

If HF fails me, maybe I'll build that one.
 
On another note. I have a kid's toy detector, the "University of Cambridge Metal detector" with a 4" coil. It works. Is there any way to build a tiny coil, maybe a .5" coil, to put at the end of a PVC rod? Maybe wire in a plug so I could switch back and forth?
