A few weeks ago I found a lighter.
A ZIPPO lighter.
Based upon the serial number stamped on the bottom the lighter was made in 1976. It was toasted.
But ZIPPO gives a life time warranty to its lighters. So I dropped it into an envelope and mailed it back to ZIPPO and they mailed me back a brand new lighter. The one I found was too damaged to repair so they replaced instead of repaired.
Now that’s customer service!
I don’t really need a lighter but if I ever do, I’ll have a brand new lighter to use. So if you find one buried in the ground, check the bottom to see if it’s one of these…
