Detected some property going back to the mid 1800's Saturday. Down the street was a stagecoach stop, across the street was a church built around 1880. Me, I'm on some old farm property, and from my lack of finds, a cheap-o farm owner's property

No old coins, at least I did find a war nickel (1945 - D), couldn't even muster up a wheatie :( Fould some Pepsi bottle tops (not rusted at all - aluminium bottle tops at one time)? Six or so 'pressure treated' metal tags, attached to lumber I assume, a key, pull tabs, and about a buck in clad.

People who's property I searched will ask the land owner where the (no longer used) church is if I can MD it. I'll have to ask them to ask the property owner of where the stagecoach stop was also

It happens. I have had many similar experiences. Home sites can be hit or miss - lot of times more miss than hit. Good luck on the Church site.

Sounds like a good site to detect. And war nickels are 35% silver, nice find.
