Gold buyer place doesn't know gold?

the SAME guys here who are on their high horses will return coins to a bank automated counter & BRAG about the overage, like they are at a Casino or something

the OP got paid, he was happy, good enough for me

You are the luckiest guy i know! She probably thought they were worth $400:lol:

exactly---she thought she was making money off you--return the favor--and sell it to them--they dont care --if you brought them a nice diamond cocktail ring----you think they would tell you--"you should sell the ring somewhere else--they are worth more than 70%spot price, of what id give ya"---NOPE--they'll take grandmas diamond ring and give ya 40bucks--crooks!!

I'm filling all of my aluminum cans with dirt and then I'm taking them to the recycler.

'Boutz to getz paid!

I believe in the moral high ground, however; in this case it is american free enterprise. The lady made an offer, he accepted. They both win.
The truth is that none of us knows what her or her employer want the rings for. We assume its for the gold, but the reality is, we are assuming. This is no different than offering $20 for a $1 dollar coin. Someone makes the offer, someone else accepts it.
Nothing immoral here. Its not as if he pushed her into a purchase while lying about what he had. He simply had two rings for sale. She made an offer after testing and he accepted. This is a happy ending in my opinion.

Am I the only one that thinks this is wrong? If they sold you two rings they said were gold and they weren't, is that cool? It works both ways. When you sell your gold to a place like that nobody is forcing you to accept their offer so the 'they've ripped people off for years' doesn't fly with me. I can't believe you came here on the forum and openly admitted you ripped someone off. Not cool!

Nope, not the only one.

You gave them two rings to buy , they bought them. How was it that YOU ripped them off?

If they didn't want them they had the choice to say no thanks. Before the incident with the owner here I worked at a pawn shop also. If anybody accepted my prices they were IDIOTS, BUT people did. It sure wasn't my falult they did.

He it is not your fault they didn't check them when buying jewelry you should always look for markings and do a acid test on it to make sure it is real and not plated
