Been not a bad year. It's been 22 years since I last prospected for gold in Edmonton. I am truly spoiled, as the river runs through Edmonton, and I can be in the river digging for gold 1 1/2 hours from finishing work. A good work out too!

Gold sure is beautiful in that pan. Looks like a lot of fun in the great outdoors. WTG John. Nice video too.

Thanks! The thrill after digging for hours is getting the material in the sluice down to a minimal, without loosing the gold, then putting it into a pan and back-panning, to see the gold glisten in the pan. A lot of work for a little gold, but great exercise, and like metal detecting, you get some interesting finds out of the gravel.

If you have any gold producing streams near you, you should give it a try. A gold pan for starters costs less then 10 dollars.
