Did a two hour hunt today at a park I've never hunted before. The Barber has some notches cut into it. Anyone know if this was done for a specific reason? Also got couple wheats and a dozen quarters.

I don't mean to be telling stories out of school but I have heard that some folks, in the old days, would cut a bit of silver off all their coins to melt it and sell when they had enough. A ten cent silver coin is still worth 10 cents with a notch or sliver missing.
