Went out Sunday for a couple of hours by the old school site where I found a 1904 IH penny. Started out digging everything and was starting to think "maybe almost everything will do when I hit this maybe 4 inches down. Couldn't tell anything except it was a nickel and looked pretty old. After a gentle cleaning i could see i had a V but the front was very worn and the back almost smooth. Figured I'd never get a date but when wetting it and patting it dry for the pic i saw "1890". Or maybe 98 or 95, but still pre-1900!! Good thing as out of fifty dug signals it was the only thing even remotely cool. And pretty close to where the IHP was. Maybe i need to concentrate on that area...
